FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions
Do you service areas beyond the Sunshine Coast?
Yes! While we’re based on the Sunshine Coast, we also service surrounding areas and beyond across Queensland and New South Wales.
What happens if I don’t get a building approval?
Building without approval can lead to serious consequences, including fines, difficulty selling your property in the future, or even having to demolish the work. It’s always better to get approval upfront and avoid costly headaches down the track.
How much does a building approval cost?
Pricing varies depending on the type and size of the project, so we don’t list set prices online. Once we receive your plans, we’ll provide a free no-obligation quote. This way, you know the cost upfront before moving forward.
What documents do I need to provide?
Generally, you’ll need a full set of plans for your project. Depending on the type of build, additional documents such as engineering details or energy efficiency reports may also be required. We’ll let you know exactly what’s needed when you contact us.
When can I start building?
You can begin construction once your building approval has been issued and the necessary paperwork is finalised. Starting before this can result in penalties.
What is QBCC Insurance and do I need it?
QBCC Home Warranty Insurance is required for most residential building work valued over $3,300. It provides protection for homeowners if something goes wrong, such as incomplete or defective work. Your builder usually arranges this.
